That is probably the worst reason to oppose this initiative that I have ever heard. (Steve Sarich’s insane ramblings aside…)
Home growing is a minor issue, and one that can be FAR more easily addressed following 502′s passage.
The repeal of alcohol prohibition started with the legalization of 3.2% beer. No bourbon, no wine, and certainly no brewpubs and home brewing. One step at a time.
There will never be a politically viable repeal effort that includes free-for-all home growing.
There will never be a viable effort that doesn’t include a conservative DUID provision.
I-502 creates a legal framework better than the Amsterdam-model. If you support legalization and oppose it, you’re expecting far too much.
It will be YEARS until we get another shot with ANY chance of passage – if you don’t like some specific element of 502, AMEND THE LAW AFTER IT PASSES. You will get more of what you want, faster.
Please, I beg you, don’t stand in the way of a step forward – just because you want to take ten.
